Engines

We have two versions of HPH 304S with engine. One with turbojet engine, which can be used to return back home in case of bad meteo conditions. This variant is called 304SJ.

Second variant - 304SM - uses piston engine, and is able to also peform take off.

304SJ

Turbojet engine has many advantages comparing to piston engines with propellers:

1. Weight and simple construction.

2. Constant power at all speeds.

3. Low drag - in fact similar to open undercarriage.

We are using turbojet engine TBSJ40 for HPH 304SJ glider.
